Notes:  Since its inception Stay Gold Guitars has had the opportunity to have many special vintage flattop guitars available to study, learn from and take inspiration from.  We are fortunate to have owned two of four Lyon & Healy made Lakeside jumbos known to exist.  It is believed that Lakeside jumbos were made between approximately 1912 and the early 1920s as that is when they appear in catalogs.  The models a fascinating history and some consider Lakeside jumbos the first true dreadnaught guitar produced.  Lakeside jumbos predate both Martin made Ditson dreadnoughts and the later made Martin D-1/D-2.  Our Lakeside jumbo model is inspired by the two Lakeside jumbos built in Chicago circa 1917 in our collection.  We made plans to the specifications of the originals.  Sitka spruce top and with beautifully figured poplar back/sides (poplar back/sides on originals were convincingly stained to look like rosewood).  Neck joins the body at the 12th fret.  One piece poplar neck hand carved with vintage "V" profile mirroring the original.  Slotted headstock.  Finished with a hand rubbed French polish finish.  Ladder braced.  Rosewood fretboard with MOP position markers.  Rosewood bridge.  Rubner vintage style open gear tuners.  Beautiful handmade multicolored wood purlings/backstip.  Rosewood heelcap and faceplate.  Compensated bone saddle.  Bone nut.  Two way adjustable truss rod with sound hole access.
