Notes:  Since its inception Stay Gold Guitars has had the opportunity to have many special vintage flattop guitars available to study, learn from and take inspiration from.  The 1930s Washburn 5257 is one of those models.  We've owned several and each has been wonderful in its own regard. We love the unique dimensions of the 5257 and have found them wonderfully balanced and equally adept at both fingerstyle and flatpicking playing - something that is not easy to find in a guitar.  So, when we decided to utilize our experience with vintage flattops in building vintage inspired new guitars a reproduction of the Washburn 5257 immediately came to mind.  Our 5257 model is inspired by the Regal made/Washburn branded 5257s built in Chicago during the 1930s.  We made plans to the specifications of an original c. 1936 5257 in our collection.  We're extremely proud of the results!  Sitka spruce top and Indian Rosewood back/sides.  One piece mahogany neck hand carved with vintage "V" profile mirroring the original.  Finished with a hand rubbed French polish finish. Non-scaloped spruce bracing shaped to the original specs.  Ebony fretboard with MOP position markers.  Ebony "smile" bridge.  Ebony bridge pins with MOP dots.  Grover 18:1 vintage style open gear tuners.  Tortoise pick guard with the distinctive 1930s Regal shape.  Cream colored celluloid body bindings.  Compensated bone saddle.  Bone nut.  Rosewood heelcap and faceplate.  Two way adjustable truss rod with sound hole access.  25 1/4" lower bout, 11 1/2" upper bout and 4 1/4" deep at end pin.
