Circa mid 1930s Oscar Schmidt made/Avalon branded concert sized guitar.   Made by Oscar Schmidt in its Jersey City, NJ factory.  Avalon is one of the rarest brand names found on Oscar Schmidt made guitars.  Interior paper label in excellent condition reads "Oscar Schmidt International Corp" with Hawaiian style player as seen on other Oscar Schmidt guitars built under different brand names.  Top has been refinished black with classic replica "Gambler" decals added.  Original Celluloid faux mother of pearl (aka "mother of toilet seat" fingerboard.  New faux MOP body binding.  Replacement bone nut. Replacement plastic bridge pins.  Original tuners.  Recent neck reset, replacement rosewood bridge with compensated bone saddle.  Two faint repaired top cracks and repaired back back cracks.  Cracks appear to have been repaired before the guitar was refinished so they are very hard to see.  Some dishing to the original fretboard yet it still plays well.  Original frets are in excellent condition.  Neck angle and action are good and she's ready to go!  Comes with used non-original hardshell case.
