Notes:
This is a rare example of a circa 1939-1940 Harmony made Sovereign "figure 8" slotted headstock model in original and very playable condition. It is getting harder to find these guitars in original condition and in overall condition such as this one. This is such an interesting guitar as we see the influence of original Oscar Schmidt made Sovereign guitars in the appointments, headstock script, body shape, etc.... The only repair apparent is that the guitar has had a neck reset (fretboard extension shim) at some point in the past. Remarkably, the guitar if crack free. The guitar is in excellent overall condition save some play wear on the top of the guitar. Beautiful multicolored purfling/rosette and backstrip. Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. Original "strings through" bridge. Original tuners function well. Original frets are in very good condition. Mahogany neck has vintage "V" profile. Overall, an excellent example. Comes with non-original hardshell case.
