Rare and exceptionally clean La Scala branded concert sized guitar made in the circa 1920s by Oscar Schmidt in its New Jersey Factory. Oscar Schmidt made La Scala examples are very scarce and represent the highest end of Oscar Schmidt's capabilities.  This guitar has a solid koa top/back/sides and ornate "tree of life" abalone fretboard inlay in ebony fretboard.  Ladder-braced.  Mahogany neck is less deep than some guitars of the period with a vintage "V" profile.  Neck was previously reset. Some bow in middle of the the neck but guitar plays well and action is comfortable.  One very thin repaired approximately 1.5" crack on bass side of guitar rim.  Original tuners, original rosewood "mustache" bridge, original bar frets.  12 1/2" lower bout/9 1/8" upper bout/7 1/4" waist.  3 3/4" deep at end pin.  HSC.
